Is your wood seasoned ?

Our wood is seasoned for a minimum of 15months where it is then cut and split and left to “barn dry” for a further minimum term of 3months giving you sub 20% moisture guaranteed and always “ready to burn”.

What species of wood do you supply ?

Our current main species of wood we supply is ash, ash is hardwood with the perfect mix of properties for firewood. It has a good density allowing it to burn with a long and steady heat.

Can you supply kindling with your loose loads and how much is it ?

We can supply our quality softwood kindling with any of our loads for £5 per bag. Please specify when you order how many you would like and it will be added on for you.

What size are your logs ?

For all of our firewood from a net bag to a full load we have one set size of 9inches. We have found this size to be suitable for most wood-burners and open fires. However we can also cater for alternative sizes which can be discussed when ordering.

Can I collect wood from you ?

Yes, we do offer a collection service for our net bags of logs and kindling from the nursery which are available anytime within opening hours. A collection of a bulk bag is also possible but please phone to arrange collection to allow us to get it ready for you

What is the best way to store my firewood ?

Accepted Answer

We always suggest a log store in which is raised of the ground and has shelter from the rain, preferably one which is open sided to allow air flow.

How are you logs delivered ?

For our loose loads the logs are delivered on a tipper truck, upon arrival we tip them out in a spot which is convenient for you depending that we can get the truck to this position. However our bulk bags are dropped of the back of the truck kept in the bag for easy storage.
